Looking for information on the families of Bridget Conroy from Castlebar and Richard D McCormick. Bridget was born 15 Aug 1830 and emmigrated to the US sometime before 1852. Richard was born 26 Oct. 1820 and emmigrated from Belmullet, Mayo, sometime in the late 1830's or early 1840's. They settled first in Illinois and later in Kansas. I have no information on their parents. I am fairly certain that they were Catholic.

Hi
Do you know much about their emigration? Dates, the reason why they left, who they may have travelled with etc.? Generally more information was given at the port of arrival rather than the port of departure. If you knew which city they arrived at (e.g. Liverpool), this could be a good place to find more information.
Have you tried checking http://www.irishtimes.com/ancestor/browse/counties/rcmaps/mayorc.htm for the availability of records for the area?
You might try contacting the Mayo Genealogy Group http://www.ouririshheritage.org/page_id__293_path__0p4p.aspx Mayo genealogy group info

There is information on the McCormack's of Belmullet in this link. Could Richard's middle name be Darby?
