My ggrandfather, James Saunders, married Ellen O'Donnell, 15 Feb 1864, in Park Turlough, Castlebar, Mayo, Ireland and died 13 February 1912 in Ardvarney, Castlebar, Mayo, Ireland. I would like information about his birth (approximately 1829?) and details about his wife, Ellen, who died about March 1898. Thank you!

Most Catholic records are held locally - One site which might be of use is - http://www.irishtimes.com/ancestor/browse/ - where you can ?browse? an overview of available records per county. If you have any difficulty, you could try writing to the parish priest for possible assistance.
It may be helpful to contact the Mayo Genealogy group - http://www.castlebar.ie/Nostalgia_and_History/Family-Research.shtml many of their memebrs are active in Ireland Reaching Out and may be of assistance to you.
