I have traced my great great grandfather Peter, Barrett, to County Mayo, Kilbride Parish, Elphin Diocese, Townland Carrowedin, Barony Tirawley.

From the Tithe Appointment Book I can surmise that his father's name was either Peter, John or James (all listed in the book).

My great-great granfather Peter, immigrated to Canada circa 1827, married here and named his two first born sons John and James.

I have exhausted all online searches for more info.  It seems that the only source left is the parish microfiche.  If I ever get to Ireland (which may be next year), I will look at it.

There are many of Peter's descendants here in the Ottawa area.
