Seeking information on the ancestors of Michael Rooney (b. abt 1841) and Mary Kelly (b. abt. 1843) (i.e parents, siblings, etc.) They were married on 12 Feb 1862 in Kilcolman Parish. The witnesses were John Reddington and Mary Scanlon. They settled in Mace, Lower and had 11 children. One child died as an infant, 6 immigrated to America, and 2 immigrated to England. Looking for information on sons James Rooney(1865-1937) and Martin Rooney (1881-?) who were believed to have remained in Ireland.

    Hello again!

I located the 1901 and 1911 census records for the family which are below. James, Martin and Bridget were in the household in 1901. Michael died in 1904 and James married in 1904-1905.  Bridget was not with the family in 1911 so she either married or emigrated. Looks like Mary died in 1920. See below.

The actual records are held by the General Register Office and you can get copies for around 4 euros each. Let me know if you need instructions.

  • Roger,

Thanks for your assistance. Yes, instructions would be helpful. I'm interested to know what, if any, additional information is on the actual record. Also, what the process would be to obtain copies and how payment is made.

    Thanks,

    Phil
