Hoping for a match!

GGGGf Michael Gavin, born 1824, lists Co. Monaghan on his headstone. Parents Joseph and Bridget. Sister Catherine (Kilmore parish) married Patrick McCabe, (Aghabog Parish) 1843. The 1833 tithe book lists a widow Gavin in Aghabog.

six kids; Bridget, james, Catherine, Michael, Mary, Patrick and Joseph. Widow is living next to a Frank Gavin. any help would be great. Coming to Ireland in Sept. and would like to narrow this down.

  • I did join the Monaghan Genealogy group. I did find that if you just google Griffith Valuation, and Tithe Apportment, both are available for free! Seem to be Narrowing this down to the Kilmore/Aghabog region. Would just like some verification. Sent an e-mail to the Diocese of Kilmore; maybe they have a record that would help, or at least more contact info for the Parish.
