I'm looking for information on my gr-gr-grandfather's family from Knockmore, Mayo. His name was John J. Flynn who was born 24 Jun 1854 in Knockmore to John Flynn and Bridget Healy. I don't have any other information on his parents except a list of siblings a helpful person passed on to me. His siblings were Matthew Flynn (b. 1 Jan 1849), John (b. 13 Mar 1851) and Michael (b. 17 Jul 1852).
My gr-gr-grandfather, John Flynn, emigrated to the US in 1880 and settled in Cleveland, OH. I believe he lived with or travelled with his fiance's (Catherine Reddington) uncle James Moran, but am not positive about that. I have a 1880 censes that has a John Flynn living with a James Moran and his wife. James Moran moved in with John and Bridget around 1900 until his passing.
Catherine Reddington emigrated arrived later in 1880 or 1881 and were married in Aug 1883 in Cleveland. They had the following children:
John Francis Flynn (1887-1939)
Mary Agnes Flynn (1890- ?)
Joseph Thoms Flynn (1892-1960) (My gr-grandfather)
William James Flynn (1894-1973)

In the meantime, Knockmore is actually a townland in the civil parish of Ballynahaglish in North Mayo, not Knock:
I did a search for John Flynn in Griffith?s Valuation. This is a property valuation survey carried out in Ireland 1848-64. Here are the John?s recorded in Ballynahaglish parish:
Catholic records for Ballynahaglish/Backs RC parish start as early as 1829, so you may be able to find some records pertaining to the family. http://www.irishtimes.com/ancestor/fuses/rcparishmaps/index.cfm?fuseaction=showidrecords&CityCounty=Mayo&parish=Backs&churchid=738
