I'm looking for any information on the family of John Hannaker and Mary Green.  They had at least one child. ie  Edward Hannaker born about 1833.  Edward got into a little trouble and was transported to Tasmania, Australia in 1848.  In 1864 he married Margaret Hunter in Victoria, Australia.  He died in Northcote, Victoria in 1905.

I'm after information on the parents and any siblings Edward may have had.

  • Hi,My name is John Francis Hannacher and I live in Ayrhire Scotland,I was informed by a family member that my great,great grandfather Michael Hannacher was born in County Mayo and emigrated to Scotland around 1865.His wife was a Mary McDonald and they had about seven children,they settled in the Govan area of Glasgow.I have endearvored to trace my name but was told that it did not exist and may have been Hannaher or Hannaker.I would love to know where my family came from.

  • Edward and Mary are my Great Grandparents. On searching convicts to Tasmainia, the record name is Edward Hanaher not Hannaker. He was transported there in 1852 and gained a pardon 1856. I don't yet know if he went to Victoria. However a Edward Hannaker and Margaret Hunter had seven children in Victoria. Edward died in 1905. From the Death records he arrived in Victoria around 1855 so I doudt that he is Hanaher. My searching is in early days. Hope that you are still interested in this. If so 'll send you more.
