Looking for relatives in Ireland or in the U.S. who are related to my family who emigrated to eastern Maine. Don't know much else as my father left before I was born in 1949. Thanks.

There are still Lawless families living in around the Turlough area. If your Dad left before 1949 he may still be in the 1901 and 1911 Census, here are some Lawless families living in the area, you might be able to find your Dad's name here.

Also have you checked the Ship's lists, or Census in Maine for 1940 and work back then, all these records are on Family Search.org.

It is difficult to make a search as you do not give his name, but nevertheless you can look through these sites, and reply if you need further checking.
