Hello;

In my genealogical search for my family I've run into a dead end. I was wondering whether anyone might be able to help. I very recently discovered that my family, who left for America during the famine, came  from Stamullen, County Meath. After some inquiries I am told that someone who now lives in Bellewstown might be related to me but I have no way of finding them as I live in the states. My name is Tom O'Neil and someone with knowledge of the area believes that a Seamus O'Neil (possibly 2 L's) has, for quite some time, been looking for the graves of 2 O'Neil's in Stamullen that I believe are related to me. Unfortunately he passed away a few years back without ever finding them. I would like very much to get in touch with anyone in the family to check and determine for sure.

I'm sure this sounds like a strange request but I was wondering whether anyone who lives in Bellewstown, or is familiar with it, and would have heard or known of a Seamus O'Neill from that town who passed away a few years ago, and who might know of someone in the family that I could contact.

I realize it's a bit of a Hail Mary pass but I thought I would take a shot. Thank you in advance for any assitance you can offer.

Regards,

Tom

    I found this small article on a web site that contains 2010 obituaries for former GAA players and officials and Seamus played Gaelic football. www.hoganstand.com/Meath

    The Bellewstown Heritage Group has a Facebook page. Hopefully, you are on Facebook, and leave a message about your family search. Their page is Bellewstown Heritage.

    Let me know if you have any questions.

    Seamus O?Neill (Bellewstown)
    Bellewstown lost one of its oldest citizens in October when Seamus passed away after a long illness. He played football with Bellewstown teams in the forties and while working in Drogheda, he turned out for the Wolfe Tones. Seamus was a lifelong pioneer and a valued member of the Bellewstown Heritage Group.

    Very clever. You're pretty good at this.

    I took your advice and left a Facebook message. It seems like a long shot but, nothing ventured ....

    Thanks very much for your help. If you can think of any other way I can try to reach the family please let me know.

    Take care.
