My Great, great-grandfather, Christopher Barrett, was born in Kells in 1824 to Thomas Barrett and Jane Carroll. He left for England in about the 1840's.
I am seeking any information you can supply on this family (e.g. parents marriage, other children).
Thank you.

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
Thomas and Jane were married in Kells in 1823. See transcription below. Roots Ireland does not have any other baptismal records for those parents in Co. Meath.

After more research in census records for England, I have discovered that my great, great grandfather, Christopher Barrett, could not have been born in 1824, as originally thought. The 1851 census lists his age as 42, year of birth about 1809. The only Christopher Barrett, born in Kells, Meath in 1808, to Christopher Barrett and Anne Waters. His marriage certificate, however, says that his father’s name is Thomas, also his wife’s father is Thomas. I am assuming that his father’s name recorded as Thomas was a mistake by whomever recorded the marriage for the records office. Advice, please.

I can't comment on whether or not the marriage record had a mistake. No way of knowing.

Darlene- I don't know if this is a relative of yours: https://rip.ie/death-notice/jane-barrett-kells-meath/410160 I met this lady and her little dog a few times and I would guess she was in her 80s when she passed away.
Kind regards,
