I have been searching for my GGgrandparents for many years now. I found Robert (approx1833) and Bridget (approx 1836) seeming to live in many places,.Kilskyre is where they were married., I know they had a farm as I found Robert & Bridget died in Rathbrack. I am trying to find any more information on my family. I have come to a standstill again. I started over 10 years ago looking for information on my g grandfather Charles Patrick.born approx 1863. I cannot find any birth information on him. I just recently found that robert and bridget were his parents from his death certificate.
Any help woild be greatly apprecaited. Thank you

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
The subscription site Roots Ireland has seven baptismal records for children of Robert Mathews and Bridget McNamee. I copied the transcriptions for the oldest and youngest children below The children were Bridget 1863 Laurence 1866 Mary 1867 Robert 1869 Christopher 1871 James 1873 William 1875 I located the civil birth record for William on the free site www.irishgenealogy.ie and the family were living in Rathbrack townland at that time.

Not sure why Charles Patrick does not show up. Here is a link to the parish register for Carnaross. Can I suggest you review the register prior to 1863 to see if you can locate his record? https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0911
Let me know what questions you have.

thank you so much for your reply. unfortunately you found the last information I found. AND, I haven't been able to go further. If robert was a landowner or rented a farm I should at least be able to find what he farmed and the name of the farm..It is frustrating for me as before my dad died he asked me to find information on his family. I was only able to tell him his family is from meath. He has since died. Now my focus is to leave information for my grandchildren so they do nor have to "not KNow" as my dad did. I was told that MAYBE where charles was possibly born on a farm and my ggggrandparents did not have the money at the time. they di dnot register his birth. I definately know he was baptised catholic as in america he married an irish woman(very religeous) and was agianst everyone who was not catholic to be aprt of his famly. My grandmother was episcopalian. thank you again!!!

The Griffiths Valuation was taken in Co. Meath 1853-1854. The head of household listing shows a Patrick Mathews in Rathbrack and I'm surmising he was Robert's father. (There was also a Charles Mathews in a nearby townland). Here is the head of household listing. https://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths/meath/dulane.htm
Rathbrack was owned by the Marquis of Headfort and there were 187 acres of land in the townland. It looks like Patrick had less than an acre of land enough for a house and garden but he likely farmed some of the land on the total estate. See askaboutireland.ie (Griffiths Evaluationand search for Patrick Mathews in Dulane parish). Sometime between 1901 and 1911 Robert purchased some of the land in Rathbrack. By 1911 there were five families in the townland.
