Hi,
I am looking for the burial place of my 3rd great-grandmother Mary Kerrigan.
Her parents are Rose Martin & Michael Kerrigan (also transcribed as Keeracon and other variations)
She was from Moynalty but passed away on March 2nd, 1913 in Derryclare. She was married to Timothy Bonas in 1858.
I am attaching a copy of her death record.
Thank you,
Josette

Josette,
In the absence of burial record in Ireland, headstones are important records of deaths. However, finding headstones can be challenging and often relies on good fortune. Having said that, there has been alot of work recently in transcribing headstones and making the information available online. There are a number of graveyards near Summerhill (where Mary died); these can be seen at this like: https://www.findagrave.com/cemetery-browse/Ireland/County-Meath/Summerh…;
It is also possible that Mary was buried at a family plot elsewhere. See this ling for further information: https://mail.google.com/mail/u/3/#inbox/FMfcgzQXJkPpfndNtHBqNJrFhWCjrsfp.
As most women took the name of their husband after marriage, you will be searching for Mary Bonas (rather than Mary Kerrigan).
Best wishes, Kieran
