I have recieved another certificate but cant read this one word. would anyone beable to read it?

  • It looks to be something like Milcairne, which I take to have been a street in Navan town. I looked at a map of the town in 2000 and there?s nothing like that. But neither is a Barrack Lane shown. Some of the street names may have changed over the years.

    If no-one on this board recognises the name, I?d suggest you e-mail Navan library (with a copy of the cert) and ask them if anyone there can identify the address.

  • Ahh thats great thank you. I thought it was kilcarn. No barrack lane along with sandymount was demolished in the 1930s. That was one of the poorest places in navan back then.

  • Kilcarn is about a mile out the Dublin road from Navan,

    Barrack lane is now Abbey road almost at Watergate street end
