My great grandmother Margaret Watson was born about Feb. 18 1858  in Meath Co. She came to the USA alone in the late 1880's.   Her 2 brothers James & Michael as well as a sister Mary are all single and living together in Isaacstown and are listed  in the 1901 & 1911 census  for this area.  I have a letter from Ireland dated May 12' 1926 from a Rose Mary Watson relaying the death of Mary Watson.  Mary was buried on Ash Wednesday and the letter states " was well attended to Rathmoylon"  Michael was still living as the letter states how he misses Mary.  James is not mentioned in the letter and may not be alive in 1926. the family bible has the death of a Katie Gayging (? Spelling) as April 12 1887 in Ireland.  I believe this is the mother of the above Watsons.  Their father ( Katie Gayging's husband) may have been Michael Watson.   I have no information on him.  They all appear to have lives in the Isaacstown Rathmoylon area of Meath Co.

Margaret Watson married Joseph Green in  1902 in Connecticut, USA   She had 7 children.  One of which was my grandmother.  Any information on this family would be greatly welcomed.  I have been doing genealogy for many years and was very excited to discover your web site as I have not been able to discover much on my Watson Irish ancesters.

Sincerely,

Joan Carney ( Massachusetts ) USA

I looked for civil death index records for the Watsons in the Trim registration district. I found an 1868 Michael, an 1887 Catherine and a 1918 James. Could not find a Michael after 1926.  Not sure that all three are your family members. You can get copies of these records (4 euros each) from the General Register Office. Let me know if you plan to get copies and I will provide instructions.

Here are the instructions for requesting copies of death records from the GRO. Let me know if you have any questions.

    Roger

Go to this link http://www.welfare.ie/en/Pages/Apply-for-Certificates.aspx In the middle of the page there are links for birth, marriage or death certificates. Hit the link for the form you want. You will likely get a screen asking for a User Name and Password. (This is a program bug that the GRO has to correct). Hit cancel and the appropriate form should come up. Print the form and complete the requested information. Also provide the information from the index record--quarter/year of the event. registration district and the volume and page number where the event is recorded. Make sure you ask for a copy which costs around 4 euros. ( A cert costs closer to 20 euros). You can also ask the GRO to e-mail the copy back to you.
