Hi

I know that I may of have been this road, but given some new info on things thought I would try again.

In 1833 my 4 x G Granda Denis Quigley was born to parents High Quigley + Mary McGuire. Around 1855 Denis moved to Scotland and married his wife Sarah McGinnes in 1855 here in Greenock. From what I have learned since is that Denis was given as coming from the Parish of Eschine, londonderry in Donegal. I think they actually meant Iskaheen

On his 1st childs birth cert it states that he came from just Donegal. I have looked at a possible place called Quigley's Point which lies in the parish of Iskaheen and Upper Moville,

Again his father Hugh was quoted as being a farmer, but again I was told that Farmer was just a common term used for anyone who worked on the land and may not have been a landholder. Cannot find hugh in any records from Scotland in either Census records or death certs.but know he was alive at least in 1863 for the wedding of another son John born around 1837 in Donegal and married in Glasgow Scotland.

I would love to know exactly where they came from, as I am planning a trip to Ireland soon and want to visit the old villages/towns where my ancestors may of lived.

Hope this helps a bit.
