I am seeking contact with relatives of Patrick and Mary Duffy who emigrated from Clones with their family to Sydney on the 'Lady Kennaway' in 1841. They were settled in the Yass area by the late 1840s. Any information related to family in Ireland will be very welcome.

  • Hi Cheryl,

I believe Clones is in Monaghan.

There are lots of public membet trees on ancestry.com which have Patrick Duffy born 22 Dec 1792 in Monaghan; married Mary McNieve in Carlow 1825; lived in Dudauman; died 24 Dec 1892 in Waterloo NSW. his parents were James Duffy & Mary Willoughby.

I searched for the marriage of James Duffy & Mary Willoughby on www.rootsireland.ie/ but there was no record.

If you can get access to ancestry.com you could contact the owners of the 10 trees which have the names of Patrick's parents about the soyrce of the information.
