I have another line who hails from Donagh City. Although the tracing of this line was done by someone else. I am researching the family of Patrick Trainor and Ann Jane Ross who were born in Monaghan in about 1820. They emigrated to Prince Edward Island in the late 1830's to early 40's. I would love any information and have some to share as well. Thanks!

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out and apologies for the delay in getting back to you.
RC records for the parish of Donagh do not begin until 1835 for baptisms and 1836 for marriages. Have you already tried ancestry.com or rootsireland for records of the family on the off-chance your dates are off and they married in Ireland? Outside of this you will be dependent on the Tithes and possibly a mention of the family in the 1794 Flax Growers List.

You should also consider other variants of the spelling: Traynor for example.
I would also try a search of the newspaper archives and if possible concentrate on the Canada side of things as records for the period are so limited here:

You can subscribe to the above for long or short periods. Lastly, you should consider chain emigration. There is for example, a link between the village of Emyvale in Co. Monaghan and Prince Edward Island. In finding information about others from the area, you may be lucky to find something about Patrick and Ann
