1865 john dycher irish petty sessions court register Ireland cavan 1865   Date to be confirmed acting constable john murray ballybay summoned john dycher rockcorry for having his house open for the sale of spirits at an unlawful hour summonses were issued against a man named Buckingham and also against ex-constable Courtney of the r.i.c. for being on the premises at the same time the constable said he was on duty in rockcorry on the evening in question and at ten minutes past ten he found the door of the licensed house opened and the two men in the shop he did not see any drink sold he did not see any change with Buckingham dycher was sworn and said that at 5 minutes before ten oclock on the date in question he was in the process of closing the door when Buckingham came in and asked notes for silver which he wanted to send by post dycher said it was time to close at that minute the police came to the door ex constable Courtney was sworn and said he was in clones on the day with mr mr dychers car(t) he was after putting up the horse and was passing through the shop when he met the constable at the door he told the constable who he was and he constable told him to go to his lodgings the magistrates were of the opinion that the house was not open for the sale of spirits and dismissed the case
