I have been looking for any information on a family member I believe to have been from Kilmore Parish in County Monaghan.
Specifically I am looking for information on James McCabe who married Bridget Trainer. I am not sure of his birth, but believe it to be around 1801 - 1804. I believe they had 3 children John, Michael and Margaret. John was born in 1828 and left Ireland around 1858 and settled in central Illinois. Michael I believe to have been born around 1837. I do not have a date on Margaret.

Unfortunately, baptismal records for that Drumsnat/Kilmore parish do not start until 1875 (marriages start in 1836).
I did check the 1825 Tithe Applotment records for Kilmore parish and there were 15 McCabe records including two James McCabe. http://titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie/search/tab/results.jsp?…
The 1861 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Kilmore parish showed three James McCabe records. If your ancestor was still alive in 1861 then he could be one of the three. http://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths/monaghan/kilmore.htm
