Hello,

I've hit a wall tracing two daughters of Rose Walsh(1841) married to Peter Byrne(1837) - married August 5,1865. Resided in Lisnafedally, Carrickmacross, Monaghan.

Bridget Byrne - born 10 July 1875 in Carrickmacross, Monaghan.  She is on the 1901 Census but does not appear on the 1911 Census.  I did find a record of marriage for Bridget Byrne on Dec 1, 1901 in Carrickmacross with details that only have her name, date and place.  I'm not sure if that would be her married name or maiden name or who the husband or parents are.

Margaret Byrne - Born 11 Oct 1866 in Carrickmacross, Monaghan.  A family member has her with 4 children (Agnes, Joseph, Mae and Rose).  We have no husband name, immigration info etc.  Margaret does not appear on the 1901 or 1911 census with Rose and Peter Byrne.

The family info states that when John Byrne (the youngest sibling) immigrated (around 1910) he wanted to stay with his sister Mrs. G Gally in New York, USA.

I have been searching immigration records and US census with no luck.

Can you help?  Any info on either about their lives in Ireland would be helpful (marriage, death, residence).

    I located a November 26, 1901 marriage in the Carrickmacross registration district but I don't think the record is for your Bridget. The father for the Bridget on the record was Thomas not Peter. There were no other civil marriage records for a Bridget Byrne in Carrickmacross from 1901-1911.

    I could not find a marriage record for Margaret prior to 1901.

    I did find two baptismal records for Lizzie and Patrick. See below.

    Also located the civil death records for Peter 1909 and Rose 1912. See below.

    I would suggest that you look at Ancestry.com and see if you can locate a Mrs. G. Gally. Likely her husband was George. Also, I would scan the Ellis Island site www.ellisisland.org for Byrne children coming into NYC.
