James Monahan was married to a Mary. 1850 censis in Maine USA shows them in New Limerick Maine.  Birthplace was listed as Ireland.  I'm guessing James came from the County of Monaghan. Thanks for any help!  Steve

  • Hi Col,

The cenus is from 1850  (State Maine / County Aroostook / Town New Limerick).  It has James age at 31... so that would make his date of birth around 1819.  It also lists his wife Mary age of 30 ( + 4 childeren).  And intersting note... he traveled over to the US with another family (Patrick Fleming) noted in 1845 book (History of Aroostook, Vol 1 Erdward Wiggin: Higginson Books Salem MA 1922).

    Thanks for all the help!

I just made a trip over to Ireland (Dublin) last week.  My first time!  That's how I discovered this website.

However there are 8 in other countise: 4 in Meath & 1 in Cavan Kildare Laois & Longford

    The Laois 1 is 1820 but the rest are 1818 & 1819
