Research on my maternal line of the family tree has hit a brick wall with Patrick Greenan 1825-1885.

I have a death in Sept 1885 in Monaghan and he was married to an Elizabeth Sheals.

Do not know if he was born in the same region or where he married.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    If you got a copy of the death record from the General Register Office (costs around 4 euros) it would tell you where Patrick lived when he died and then I would work back. The Monaghan registration district covers all or part of 10 civil parishes in north central Co. Monaghan. If you want to get thecopy of the death record, let me know and I will forward instructions

    I also looked at the 1861 Griffiths Valuation for Co. Monaghan. There were seven Patrick Greenans listed but I listed out below the four who lived within the area of the Monaghan registration districr.
