Looking for information on my grandmother Beatrice Agnes McDonagh, b1879 daughter of Thomas McDonagh and Jane Gallagher m. 1865
one of 10-11 children....have found documentation on many in family but after 30 years still cannot find her birth/baptism or death certificates for parents.
Question: Is Beatrice an odd name in Ireland? Why would she go by McDonagh in Ireland and McDonald in UA? Brogue?
4 girls came to USA never to return: Honoria, Jane, Mary ann and Beatrice.....
Apparantly went to church in Aughanagh and Ballinafad prior to 1900
had to get dispensation from church to marry due to blood relationship!!!
Willing to share what I have if anyone tracking these lines

Disclaimer: I am a professional genealogist and hel out on this site when/where I can but will also gladly accept commissioned research
I can find;
Mary Anne 1866, Patrick '67, Bridget '71, John '77, Jane '85 and Honor 1890 - no sign of Beatrice. There are a number of variations to the nmae and it wouldn't be unheard of for names to change.
However, I do find a possible index to a civil record for a Female McDonagh born 1879. It may be that she was not baptised or that not recorded. Record is Quarter 1, 1879, Volume 4, Page 110. If you are unable to get directly from GRO you can buy from www.groireland.ie or birthsdeathsmarriages.ie or I can get it for you.
Finding her parents' death records could be possible with a little more work.
The change to McDonald could certainly have been an error. My grandfather when applying for a passport in the US had to accept a change to his name becasue they had taken his name down wrong and he wouldn't have been able to travel back to Ireland if he wanted it changed!
