I looked on Roots Ireland www.rootsireland.ie for a marriage of a Samuel Coneys anywhere in Ireland from 1842-1852 but no record came up.

Clifden is in Omey civil parish. I checked the 1856 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing  and there were a number of Coneys entries including two Thomas Coneys. If Samuel's father was still alive in 1856, he may be one of the two Thomas Coneys listed. http://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths/galway/omey.htm

Did Samuel die in Scotland? I noticed there was a civil death index record for a Samuel Coneys who died in 1882 in the Clifden area. The year of birth was shown as 1822.

thankyou for your reply I do not know if Samual died in Scotland but he can be found In the Scotish 1871 census, this family spent a lot of time going between Scotland and Ireland over the years .

I think I will have to look for Samual and Janes marriage in Scotland, they are a very confusing family why they could not stay in one place I will never know.Samuals place of birth was Clifden Ireland so I thought he married there, the family always lived in that area as far as I have found out when they lived in Ireland.

As for Thomas I do not have a dob for him .
