MY GGG GRANDMOTHER WAS CALLED SUSANNAH MCELROY. HER FATHER WAS CALLED WILLIAM MCELROY. THEY LIVED IN BOYLE ROSCOMMON. SHE MARRIED THOMAS SMYTHE 25 DECEMBER 1846 IN BOYLE. THEIR 2 CHILDREN ROBERT AND SUSAN WERE BORN THERE AND BAPTISED IN THE CHURCH OF IRELAND BOYLE.
THIS IS THE ONLY INFORMATION I HAVE. DOES AMYONE KNOW OF THIS FAMILY?

I looked at the 1855 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Boyle civil parish. There was a William McElroy listed in Tinacarra townland. Also, a Thomas Smyth in The Green in Boyle town. Possibly they were your relatives. I also checked the 1901 census at www.census.nationalarchives.ie for Tinacarra. (Spelling was Tinnacarra in the census). There were two McElroy families. Possibly one could be Susan's mother and the other a brother but they could also be more distant relations.
