Hello!

I am looking for information about Robert McLean, who I believe was from Boyle (I have his diary but it is incomplete). He was born around 1835 and emigrated to New Zealand in 1864. His father, I believe, was also called Robert McLean. His grandfather was called Hugh McLean and was married to Letitia Gillespie. 

Any help very gratefully received.

    I located  the baptismal record on Roots Ireland for Robert in the Ardcarne Church of Ireland records.Ardcarn civil parish is to the east of Boyle parish. The family lived in Ballyardan townland in Ardcarn civil parish based on the Griffiths Valuation data. The father was Hugh not Robert.

    By the way, it appears that Robert was the oldest of eleven children. The youngest was born in 1860. Also appears that Hugh was married twice and at least one of his children died young.
