looking for parents of bernard mcguire and jane corcoran. On a corcoran family website i noted the marriage of bernard mcguire and jane corcoran in ballaghaderreen, county mayo in 1874. They are the parents of my grandfather john joseph mcguire born feb 1 1880 in county cork (according to his canadian army enlistment papers. john had a twin brother thomas. however, the family was so poor that they could only keep one twin so they kept thomas and sent john joseph to live with an aunt (unknown) in England. He was taught by the capatian brothers in england. According to a U.S. census 1910 jane emigrated to the u.s. in 1903 followed by thomas in 1906. they resided in the Brockton, Massachusetts area. the mcguire twins had an older brother james born 1876 and a sister (unknown). my concern is the mcguire corcoran marriage was in county mayo and john joseph has his birthplace as cork county - a considerable distance i'm told. I am also a member of the county cork webpage.
any help and direction is greatly appreciated.

I believe we exchanged messages earlier on your family interest. Do you have the prior exchange? I was not able to locate.

I was not able to locate a marriage record for James Corcoran and Elizabeth Payton in Roscommon or Cork.
I did check the 1856 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Co. Roscommon and found two James Corcorans near Ballaghaderreen in Tibohine parish. No idea if there is a connection. Carrowgarve and Mullaghashee are the townlands.
