I am searching  for information on g-gf, John Quinn. Married Rose Quigley in Claremorris, Co. Mayo on 7 Jan 1846. Three sons born in Claremorris: Dr. Joseph P. Quinn (1854-1916); Thomas J. Quinn (1856-?); John F. Quinn (1859-1935).

John Quinn date and place of birth uncertain; may have been Boyle, Roscommon  in 1819. Death was in Claremorris 7 Jan 1890; occupation: Gardener. Rose Quigley died in Claremorris 31 Jan 1900.

I would like to determine dob and pob for John Quinn & Rose Quigley, and any information relating to  his gardening business.

  • Hi Jack,

Thank you very much for your message. I hope that someone with information makes a connection with you and helps you to further your research.

In the meantime, I did a search for John on www.rootsireland.ie There are two records for John Quinn born in Co. Roscommon in 1819. However, you need to buy credits to be able to view the record and see what parish it was recorded in:

Alternatively, you could try contacting the local parish priest in Boyle to see if there atre any records of John there. Records for the parish start as early as 1793 so if he was born there you should be able to find something:
