I am researching the Noone family originally from Kilcooley. James Noone (1796- ) was married to Anna Morris (1798- ). Anna Morris was from Stokestown, Lissonuffyt. James Noone's father was Patrik Noone. Are there any records of their existance in Kilcooley? Thanks for anyones help in this search. Blake Noon, Long Sault, Ontario, Canada.

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

I searched the subscription site Roots Ireland and there were nine baptismal records for children of James Noone and Anne Morris in the Croghan RC church records. The nine children were Patrick 1816 John 1817 Michael 1820 (probably died young) Michael 1823 Mary 1826 (probably died young) Mary 1830 Sarah1832 James 1836 Winifred 1838 The transcriptions for Patrick and Winifred are below. I did not find a marriage record.

I also looked in the Tithes and did not see a James Noone record and there were no Noones listed in the 1855 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Kilcooley parish.

  • Thank you so much, Roger, I did not know about Michael 1 or Mary (who probably died young). Patrik moved to Tartan and farmed there. I will now further my search to Stokestown where Anna Morris was born. Every bit of information helps with this puzzle.

    Best Regards
