I am searching for information on the Misset / Messett, McDonel families.  Not sure of the spelling on either surname as I have seen many variations. They are my GGG Grandparents.  I have a marriage certificate showing date of marriage is 11-Mar-1856.     Parish / District Kilglass, County Sligo.  Patrick Misset and Barbara McDonel. Address: Cabra, both are Roman Catholic.  It does not list parents for either. It shows witnesses - Patrick Finegan and Anna NcDonel.  Their children were Garrett, Patrick (my GG Grandfather), Ellen, Mary, Barbara, Margaret, and Michael.  Any information would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks !

    I looked at the 1858 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Kilglass parish. There was a John Micet in Cabragh townland. Possibly he was the father of Patrick Misset. There are also a number of McDonnells in the parish including one in Cabragh. There are two Finnegan records including one in Cabragh. (See first link below.)

    I searched www.familysearch.org for birth or death index records. I did not locate a death index record for Patrick or Barbara. I did find two birth index records and two baptismal index records for four possible children of Patrick and Barbara.  For the first two (Patrick and Barbara) you can get a copy of the birth record from the GRO www.groireland.ie Finally, I checked the 1901 census for Cabragh and located a record for a Catherine Missett and children. (See last link at the bottom). Not sure what her connection is to Patrick. Let me know if you have any questions.
