  • FYI - this information was obtained regarding this query.

Without more information, it will not be possible to trace this family.  I suggest that the inquirer check the Marriage Records for the two McLaughlin brothers in the USA.   These will list their parents names and will allow research for the marriages of siblings of these brothers who may have stayed here in Ireland.   I would not expect to find Baptismal Records for the brothers as Curraghroe falls in the Catholic Parishes of Tarmonbarry and Ballagh, as the Church Records in both of these areas do not begin until 1865.   I located a Marriage record for a Michael McLoughlin to a Bridget Mulligan in the Parish of Ballintubber in 1843, and it may be possible that this is the Marriage of one of the brothers.   I suggest that the inquirer, when he has obtained the above information,  he contact the County Roscommon Geneaology Centre (St John's Church), Church Street, Strokestown, Co. Roscommon, to check the family tree details available.  Telephone (071) 9633380.   E-mail: inforoscommonroots@roscommoncoco.ie.

    Yours sincerely
