Cory:
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
I searched on the subscription site Roots Ireland and did not find a marriage record for Patrick Coyne and Sarah Hoban. A good number of Roscommon RC parishes do not have records back to the 1840s.
You may want to add Patrick and Sarah's story to our XO Chronicles sitehttps://www.irelandxo.com/ireland-xo/history-and-genealogy/ancestor-dat…
You may want to consider DNA testing.

Hi Cory
Coyne and Hoban are not all that common in Co Roscommon, so it should not prove to be a total needle in a haystack.
However, beware ... Coyne is an Anglicisation with variable translations such as Kane / McKeon /Owens (common to these parts).
Therefore HOBAN / HUBAN is the name to track (vis. Coyne or Kane or even McKeon).
e.g. Patrick Kain born 1818 in Scurbeg ELPHIN to Dennis Kain & Catherine Maguire
I agree with Roger though, you are probably looking for a parish for which no records exist. (Elphin parish records are pretty tight, so that there is no Hoban baptised here after 1811). HOBAN parish records are not revealing any alternatives for Coyne either.
So, you need to rely on land records as a starting point...
Look for Coyne & Hoban in the same parish (post-famine list here) and any alternatives
e.g. James Cain (labourer) & Mary Hoban of Dromduff (KILBRIDE civil parish of BALLYLEAGUE) baptising 1827-1871
Then for pre-famine records look to the Tithe Applotment records for Hoban; note in particular the following locations in the civil parishes of
Ballintober (2 townlands),
Cloonygormican (2 townlands),
Kilbride (1 townland),
Taghboy (1 townland).
BUT there's no corresponding Hoban parish match for Coyne (Kilcorkey, Killinvoy, Killukin Boyle, Kilmeane, Kilnamanagh, Kilteevan, Kiltullagh, Rahara). So that is why you need to consider possible spelling alternatives ...
Of the townlands containing HOBAN, only one lead emerges...
Thady Cain and John Hoban in Brierfield (civil parish of BALLINTOBER)
If you consider DNA testing as Roger suggests, the above information may help you pin down a point of origin quicker.
In the meantime, I suggest you join the following civil parishes on IrelandXO:
Select all of them, when post your ancestors' details (as suggested by Roger). In time, something is bound to turn up.
Best of luck!

Thank you so much for the quick replies! I do know that they had a child Bridget Coyne who was born in Ballymoe, Galway which is right on the Galway/Roscommon border and the records they I found were from ancestry.com building my family tree and for Patrick and Sarah the only records I found showed them born in Roscommon however the information could not be 100% accurate. So you think it would be better for me to search more for Bridget who is a great great aunt of mine since I know the town she was born in?

Absolutely ... start with your most reliable piece of information. Work that through. And other leads will follow.
Do you have a townland name? Was it in the civil parish of DRUMATEMPLE or the broader population centre around Ballymoe village?
In any case, this means your dig should definitely incljude any [H*ban] occurances around the neighboring civil parishes of Ballintober and Kilteevan as well.

Philadelphia is a good port of entry to try for immigration. Sorry, I don't recognize these names. I am looking for a Boyle, so that was helpful to read.

Hi Cory
FYI townlands in the RC Parish for BALLINTUBBER & BALLYMOE are mapped here.
Do you have information vis. Jane Bridget Coyne’s parents? Is emigration in 1846 a certain fact? (Do you have her on a ship's manifest by any chance?)
Michael Coyne/Coin/Kine/Coen and *Catherine Scully/Scally baptising in RC parish BALLINTUBBER on 15 April 1842 (no additional baptisms). Interestingly both godparents on this record are siblings of Michael: John Coyne & Winifred Coyne (Winifred's native name was Úna aka Oonagh). This confirms:
Coyne siblings BALLINTUBBER
Mícheál aka Michael (m. Catherine Scally / gp.1842)
Seán aka John (m. Mary Casserly /gp. 1842 / bap. 1850)
Úna aka Winifred (m. Peter Casey / gp.1842)
Catherine Coyne (m. James Kelly / bap. 1850)
Catherine Scally/Scully BALLINTUBBER
godparents for Catherine Coyne & James Kelly in 1845 (along with John Coyne)
godparents for Edward Scally & Brigid Rogers in 1848* (along with Denis Scally)
godparents for John Coyne & Mary Casserly in 1850* (along with Edward Scally)
Based on Catherine Scally's dates above...
If Brigid's parents emigrated with her for sure in 1846*... I don't believe the Jane Coyne born April 1842 in RC Ballintubber, can be your girl. :-(
Unless they emigrated after 1850? However, the April baptism is also a good a bit out from Dec.

Rua,
Yes i do have the ship record. The ship they left on was called "The Sheridan" and from my discovery left Liverpool in 1846. It has Patricks signature signed as Patt Coyne his wife Sarah Bridget shown of age 4 which would put her birth year 1842 and her brother Patrick as well says age 5. I have attached the document.
Your above information i was able to find the other day but i have not been able to find any connections of my Patrick Coyne to Michael, Sean, Una, or Catherine. I would think possibly they could be siblings but again i have no proof of that and i am certain of Patricks wife being Sarah Hoban because i know where their grave site is here in Iowa where i live as well also have her Obit. that says she was from Roscommon, Roscommon, IRE but havent been able to find any records of her either.
I am hoping this is helpful for you to try and help me bring this to a conclusion.

Hi Cory
Just to be clear... we are looking for a Jane Bridget Coyne born c. 1842 in Ballymoe, parents: Patrick Coyne & Sarah Hoban?
- Can you give me all the details of the Ballymore source you have?
In any case that places Patt Coyne & Sarah Hoban in the district of Ballymoe in 1842 doesn't it?
There are 10 civil parishes in Ballymoe...
- Ballynakill (46 townlands)
- Drumatemple (23 townlands)
- Kilbegnet (42 townlands)
- Boyounagh (46 townlands)
- Clonbern (33 townlands)
- Dunmore (122 townlands)
- Kilcroan (23 townlands)
- Killererin (62 townlands)
- Templetogher (50 townlands)
- Tuam (133 townlands)
Are you certain she was baptised in the RC Parish of Ballintubber & Ballymoe aka Ballintubber? (If so, that narrows your search down to 43 townlands).
The RC Parish of BALLINTUBBER embraces parts of 2 civil parishes:
Civil Parish of Drumatemple Co. Galway
Ashpark, Bellacagher , Caran, Cartron, Cloonadarragh East, Cloonagrassan, Corrastoona Beg, Corrastoona More, Drumatemple, Dundermot, Foghanagh Beg, Foghanagh More, Killerr, Laragh and Ross, Leabeg, Lecarrow, Rathcarran, Tobermakee.
Civil Parish of Ballintober Co. Roscommon

If your Ballintober / Ballymoe address source can be confirmed, I may have identified a primary townland of interest for you.

Thanks again for all your time!
My sources come from the website MyHeritage. I hope these links work https://www.myheritage.com/discovery-hub/482680011/matches-for-person/1500028?matchType=4&matchStatus=32&confirmedByOthers=0
https://www.myheritage.com/site-family-tree-482680011/m#person-1500028
Both of these if they work properly should bring you to the information that I got from MyHeritage searches along with smart matches I received after I did my initial family tree as well. My cell won’t let me upload the screen shots of these so let me know if they don’t work cause if not I can upload them from my computer if needed.
