My great grandfather, Martin Corrigan, was born in Ireland abt 1820 in Ireland, immigrated to the USA  around 1846.  He married Ann Brennan on 5 Jun 1853 in La Salle County, Illinois, resided in La Crosse Co. Martin Corrigan was a farmer.  On the neighboring farm lived Thomas Corrigan (1829 -1884) and Margaret (Donahue)Corrigan (1832-1890) and their children:  Martin 1852-1853; Thomas Joseph 1854 -1928; John Martin 1857 – 1912; Mary E 1859 -1864; James J. 1862 -1931; William J.  1864-; Andrew M 1865-1865; Joseph P 1867-1934; Michael 1870-.  The Thomas Corrigan family was from Loughulin, Roscommon, Ireland (inscription on the tombstone).  Thomas and Margaret were married 1 May 1851.   I have not been able to prove that Martin and Thomas were related.

I am looking for information on Martin Corrigan, Thomas and Margaret (Donahue) Corrigan.

  • Do you know the location of the farm?

This might help you to determine which parish it is located in- and you could them post your information on that page of the site...

Remember to post as much information as you can with regard to the people you are researching. Include information regarding their emigration & other relatives... The more information you post, the more likely it is that one of our volunteers will be able to advise or assist you.

Also include information concerning which sources you may have already used so others may further your search.

Please be patient - as our programme has only begun to rollout across the island of Ireland and volunteers in some areas may not yet be organized.

    Kind regards,
