My great grandfather, John Anthony King, was born 7 Jul 1850. He was baptized 11 Aug 1850 in Fairymount RC parish. His sponsors were: John Dowd and Catherine King. His parents were John King and Catherine Coen who were married 10 Oct 1849 in Fairymount RC parish. (witnesses Michael Cuncannon and Michael McCormick)
A Catherine King died 2 Jan 1879 in Kanespark at age 56. It is supposed that this is John King's mother.
Other children were:
Patrick King baptized 31 May 1855 (sponsors Hyacinth Dowd and Bridget King)
Catherine King, baptized 8 Dec 1856 (sponsors Francis King and Ellen King)
Pat King, born at Highbog 3 Apr 1864
My great grandfather, John Anthony King, was a cooper like his father and emigrated to Philadelphia Pennsylvania USA in 1872 where he married Bridget Mackin about 1884. He died and was buried in Philadelphia in 1910. John had one child survive from whom there remains over 30 descendents in the USA.
