Mary:
You may want to check out this web site developed by Ed Finn in New Jersey. He has Finn and Lavin connections in Lisduff and other townlands in Tibohine (Frenchpark) parish.

Hi Mary, I just received an email from Roger McDonnell indicating that he saw your post regarding Michael Finn & Mary Lavin. Your Michael Finn was a brother to my Great Grandfather Patrick Finn so we are definitely related. I can pass a few bits of info for you here. Here is an excerp from my word data file on Michael Finn. I look forward to hearing from you (efinn3 at comcast.net) as I have MANY more records I can share with you.

I'm not sure if any of you have already stumbled across this or are still looking for information, but this is a family tree someone in the family made. My grandma is Eileen Finn and I've seen it on paper, and tonight I've been researching the family myself and found the copy online. Hope this helps a wee bit :)

Hello to all in the group. I am trying to find out about my Irish family and I have seen a prior post that has some Finn's and Lavin's in this area. My father passed away over 17 years ago and so have his siblings, so I am truly reaching out. My father's mother, my grandmother was born in Essex County, New Jersey, USA on June 26, 1889. Her name was Margaret Mary Finn. Her parents were both born in Ireland and are listed as Michael Finn ( born between 1857-1861) and Mary Lavin (born between 1858-1862). They both came to the United States somewhere between 1880 and 1882. I believe they entered the USA through Ellis Island in New York, but I am not certain. After arriving they had 5 children. My grandmother was the oldest and her name was Margaret Mary. Her siblings were Mary (May) (b.1892) , Bernard Aloysius (b.1893) , Catherine (b.1895) , and Anna (b.1898). If anyone has any information that can help me link my family to their Irish heritage, it would be much appreciated.
