I am trying to find a record for my great-great grandparent's marriage. I found them on the 1901 Census. I'm thinking they must have married about 1879 as their oldest child, Michael's age was given as 23. I also found them on the 1911 Census. It said that they had been married thirty-two years. Also, I'm wondering, the 1911 census said they had 4 children, I was only aware of three, Michael, Kate, and Maria. How would I find out the name of their fourth child. I know they were Roman Catholic but I have no idea of the name of the church they attended. What information would I find on the marriage record? Their daughter, Maria was my Great-grandmother. Any information you can help me find would be greatly appreciated.

  • Angela:

Peter and Catherine were married in 1874. The marriage was registered in the Castlereagh district. Volume 19 page 72. If you write to the GRO
www.groireland.ie fill out their form and provide the year, district, volume and page number they will get you a copy of the marriage record for about 4 euros.

By the way, the 1911 census shows only 3 children.
