My grandmother was born on 7/1/1888. Her birth certificate indicates she was born in the Districk of Aclare, in the registrar's distirict of Tobercurry in the county of Sligo. Her name was Winifred McGowan and her father's name is listed as Pat McGown and her mother is listed as Catherine McGowan (formally Walsh).
The 1911 census has them living at 46 in Montiagh ( Achonry West, Sligo).
My wife and I will be traveling there in the next month or so and would love to visit or at least see the old homestead. We also found some old pictures that have River road written on the back.
If anyone has any info I would certainly appreciate it.
Thanks in advance

The 46 in the 1911 census has no relevance today. When the census was taken a constable would visit a townland to pick up and sign the census forms. The numbers assigned were simply the order in which he visited the houses in the townland. Montiagh is a fairly large townland.(1446 acres).
Google Maps shows that Montiagh is a few miles west of the village of Curry on the N17.
