Need someone locally who is interested in helping

me dig into the Jane Gallagher Thomas McDonagh family line that seemed to go from this area to Bodorragh in County Roscommon.  They were married c1865 in Ardcarn, but apparantly attended church in Sligo at Ballinafad and Aughanagh

I cannot find birth or baptism records for my grandmother Beatrice Agnes McDonagh, child of Jane and Thomas.....have records for most of their other 10 children....no death/buriel records either...he supposedly died 1894-1900 ..worked for rBrithish RR

I have 30 years of research I am willing to share with relatives on the other side of the pond if anyone is interested!

  • Hi,

Thanks for your message and for your offer to share your research!

I hope that someone from the area is able to assist you. Perhaps you could also try contacting the Co. Sligo Heritage and Genealogy Centre for assistance-however a fee may apply. Here are their contact details:

Maybe you could also try contacting the parish office, for possible assistance. I found a website for the Aughnagh parish which has contact details. It is at the following link:

  • I am local. What are you trying to find out? I can check out what records they have in the village, or probably take a trip to sligo library to the local history : http://sligolibrary.ie/sligolibrarynew/LocalStudies/
