Looking for ancestors of Dominick Bannon, born in Sligo about 1841, Catholic, emigrated to New York City, USA about 1855-60. Married Ellen Finn from Kilkenny, Ire. her parents were Patrick Finn and Catherine Hayden. Dominick's children all born in NYC were Mary, Bridget, Philip, Dominick, Catherine, Lillian, Joseph, and Ellen. Also looking for emigration records, ie, ship, date, etc. Dominick's father may have been a farmer from Roscommon and his mother from Leitrim.

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
I foun d a transcription of the baptismal record on Roots Ireland (see below). I did not find a marriage record for his parents. Likely they married in a Leitrim parish that does not have records back to 1840. Also did not find any sibling baptismal records and his father was not listed in the 1858 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Aghanagh civil parish.
The place name on the transcription is Corrick which is not an official townland name. Possibly the townland is either Coorandoo East or Corrandoo West also in Aghanagh parish. I also gave you a link below to the parish register.

Thank you very much, Roger McDonnell!
I greatly appreciate your timely reply and all the valuable information you provided! Just one question if I may, do you suppose Dominick would have sailed from the port of Sligo to New York given his birth took place in Co. Sligo?

Hard to say. Could have left from Galway.
