Hello I am trying to confirm parents and identify siblings for both of my 2xgreatgrandparents who immigrated to Canada in 1847. Here is what I know: William Allen and Margery (Morrison) were married 19 Apr 1822 in Ballysadare, Co Sligo. In about May 1847 they immigrated to Canada with their family, Robert (b 14 Jul 1823), John F (b 28 May 1827), Margaret (b 21 Apr 1831), Sarah (b 1835), William (b 28 Mar 1838), Marjorie (b 11 Sep 1843). They made it to Toronto Gore area where, apparently they were coming to join one/some of Margery's family. William died 14 Jul 1847, between 10-14 days after their arrival, of ships fever and is buried outside of Toronto. I have some information that says that William's parents were Robert & Sarah Allen - they were apparently listed in Burke's in 1800 and Robert was supposedly a clerk for a lawyer named Argu in 1776. The name of Margery's parents may be John and Margaret Morrison. I am trying to confirm/identify William and Margery's parents, siblings, aunts, uncles etc. Any help would truly be appreciated!

Hi there,
The first of my Morrisons that I can find is my great great grandfather Johnston Morrison (c1814-1876). Ballysadare isn't a very large village/town so chances are there may be a link somewhere! Datewise - maybe a brother of your Margery!!!! If you are on Ancestry I can share my tree with you. (oddly I have a first cousin Marjory Morrison)

Hello Hazel - I tried again ... let me know if it works. I do have an Ann Archey (may be Archy?) in my tree that is from Sligo, but I do not have the rest of her family or much information on her family. She was born abt 1826 and died 27 Mar 1880 in Wellington County, Ontario, Canada. She married John S Morrison also of Sligo abt 1850 in Ireland. They likely immigrated about 1854. I also have a James Williams, married to Eleanor Zolden, but he was born in Ireland in abt 1796.
