Thank you for forwarding my original e.mail in which I sought to contact Linda Bradshaw concerning her post indicating the discovery of a document showing that her ancestor James Patrick O'Boyle was from the parish of Tawnagh in County Sligo. She also said that James' parents were Patrick O'Boyle and Eleanor Morrison. I would hold that I am also descended from the latter couple who would be my great great grandparents. My name is also Patrick O'Boyle, born 1939, and formerly lived in the civil parish of Ballysumaghan, County Sligo in the late 40's/early 50's with my grandparents, Patrick and Honoria (Beirne) O'Boyle who were born in 1865 and 1875 respectively and died in 1954 and 1957 respectively. Patrick was a son on John O'Boyle (1842/1912) and Margaret Torsney (1845/1922)(Married 1864). I believe this John O'Boyle to be a brother of James Patrick O'Boyle who was married to Anne Sheeran in 1876. I also believe both of these men to be brothers of Bridget Davey, Ellen McLoughlin , Catherine Mulvany and Michael O'Boyle who married Mary Doogan. The Roman Catholic Parish of Riverstown, Co. Sligo embraces the Civil Parishes of Ballynakill, Ballysumaghan, Killerry, Kilross and Tawnagh. At the birth of James Patrick O'Boyle there would only have been one R.C. Church in the parish and that was at Riverstown. Since then two chapels of ease have been built at Sooey and Gleann, both on the Sligo to Ballyfarnan road. Recent sighting of the marriage certificates of John, Bridget and Catherine show that they were married in Riverstown but their home address at the time was CULNASKEAGH, which is in the civil parish of Killerry, in the townland of Lavally (which area is also called Bloomfield). Culnaskeagh (CUL-NA-SCEACH - Behind the bushes or hedge) was the location of a hedgeschool started by a Mr. Connor who taught in the fields and in private houses for a small fee. He eventually got a building in Lavally. This was replaced by a one room (2 teacher) school building in 1869 which bore the name St. Joseph's National School, Cuilnaskeagh. When a newer school was built in Bloomfield in 1947 it carried the concrete slab from the old school. The 1947 school closed for want of pupils in 1998 but still stands. While I earnestly believe that my branch of the O'Boyle family descended from Patrick O'Boyle and Eleanor Morrison, I have yet to see a document which shows that John O'Boyle's mother was Eleanor. The marriage certificates mentioned above only show the father's name. You will appreciate, therefore, why I would like to have details of the document apparently seen by Linda Bradshaw which showed the original home parish to James Patrick O'Boyle to be TAWNAGH. Please forward this additional information to Linda Bradshaw and perhaps she will respond in some way and thus give me an opportunity to confirm our relationship and give her much more detail in relation to our extended family. Thanks again for the opportunity to endeavour to make this connection. Sincerely, Pat O'Boyle

I have been searching for the burial records relating to Kiltycloghan (Ciltycloghan) burial grounds in County Sligo but have had no success. The location is in the Civil Parish of Killerry (near Drumee), co. Sligo, and in the light of recent information to hand regarding the place of residence of my great great grandfather (Patrick O'Boyle married to Eleanor Morrison) i.e. Cuilnaskeagh in the townland of Lavally (also in Killerry parish) I am more anxious than ever to see these records. Can you help in this regard, please?

Thank you both for the responses, and my apologies for the delay in responding.
I found the marriage records for some of the children of Patrick O'Boyle and Ellen Morrison on www.familysearch.org.
Here is the link... i searched on Patrick O'Boyle, with spouse surname Morrison, in Ireland/County Sligo. It came up with 3 marriage records for their children Michael, Catharina, Brigida. These are the only records I have - beyond US Census through which i could track them and their descendants in Chicago.
You may reply to me directly at L.D.Bradshaw@att.net, if you wish.

Patrick 1939, I am a relation of the John married to Margaret Torsney (Tarsny) line and I have significant information on many of their off-spring. I believe I could answer some of your questions posed in yuor post. However my information on Patrick & Nora Beirne is limited. Perhaps we could exchange information. My record on James Patrick OBoyle 1879 shows him married to a different woman to the one you mentioned.
