Hi all

Cormack Kilgannon is my great, great, great grandfather. He was the son of Cormick Kilgannon and Ellen Ormsby, and he was born between 1811 and 1816 in Sligo (possibly Easky). On Dec 7 of 1834 he married Mary Cuffe, daughter of Patrick Cuffe and Nancy Thomson / Thompson. The marriage took place in the Catholic Church in Templebiy and the witnesses were Patrick Kilgannon and Catherine McDonagh. The priest recorded Cormack as 'Charles' and Mary as 'Mariam'. As a married couple they may have farmed the land around the split rock in Easky.

Cormack Kilgannon and Mary Cuffe had three children born in Ireland (John 1838, Ann 1840, James 1842). Between 1842 and 1849 the family relocated to Lanarkshire, Scotland where their youngest child was born (Mary 1849). All the men in the family became coal miners. Cormack passed away on May 7 1896 in Edinburgh while his wife, Mary, predeceased him on April 23 1893.

I would appreciate hearing from anyone who is connected to Cormack Kilgannon, his wife Mary Cuffe or any of his children. My family descends from his son James, and my ancestors came to Canada between 1906 and 1912.

I have a fair bit of information regarding my branch of the family, as well as bits and pieces regarding the other family branches. I would be glad to share and compare with anyone who is interested.

Thanks

Thelma
