I will be visiting Ireland in March 2023 with my family and plan to visit several towns where ancestors were born. My ggg-grandmother Catherine Ryan was born in Ballylooby around 1849. I have a baptism record from that year from Diocese Cashel and Emly, Parish Ballycahill and Holy-Cross that lists her parents as John Ryan and Mary Purcel Tobin. Family lore has her marrying John Tobin from neighboring Ardfinnan and emigrating to Morristown NJ, where my gg-grandmother Catherine Tobin was born. I visited Ballylooby briefly 20 years ago and recall that it was a rather small town. When I visit in March, I’d like to spend a couple of hours exploring. I’d appreciate any information on churches, cemeteries, anything that is historically interesting. If there’s a pub, I’d like to visit there as well.
I’ll be looking for similar info on Ardfinnan and the Tobins as well.
Thanks so much in advance for any assistance you can provide. I am soooo looking forward to returning to Ireland. ❤️

Catherine:
I searched the subscription site Roots Ireland and located her September 23 1849 baptismal record in Holycross RC parish with father John Ryan and mother Mary Purcell. She had older siblings Thomas 1841 James 1843 Mary 1845 Timothy 1848. I found a March 3 1840 marriage record in Thurles RC parish for a John Ryan and Mary Purcell. Thurles is next to Holycross so I'm pretty sure this record is for your ancestors.
When did Catherine Ryan and John Tobin marry?
