I have been looking for a Patrick Shanahan born around 1840 with a father Denis, family stories indicate they came from Waterford but I can find no evidence of this. What i have found, is a Patrick born in 1841 with a father Denis in Ballylooby, the mother was Brigid Sullivan and I have so far found 6 other children baptised in Ballylooby, unfortunately, I can find no further trace so far for any of them. I know my Patrick was married in Cardiff in 1860 and Denis was deceased at this stage. I live in Galway these days and would happily pay a visit if I thought I could find anything further, anybody have any know ledge of Shanahans in this area please.

The Tithe records - 1823 - 1837 have a Denis Shanahan in the Civil parish of Glenbane 1833 and a Denis Shanahan in the Civil parish of Upperchurch in 1829 No. 21 on attached record.
No record found for County Waterford.

First son of Denis and Bridget I found recorded was Michael in 1830. His baptismal / birth records in Ballylooby are registered in Waterford and Tipperary as all the childrens' are. The last I found was Denis in 1846.
