Looking for information on what records are available in Bourney Parish for Thomas Lynch born c1820 married in Bourney Parish in c1840 to Bridget Churchill or Killions. Enlisted in Army in Dublin in 1842 - sent to New Zealand. His death certificate states parents Joseph Lynch and Hannah. Possibly C of I.  His father Joseph possibly born c1792.

  • Hello Genid, I am looking at older queries and while there are a lot of Thomas Lynchs in Tipperary there are none with a father Joseph, probably because the church records do not exist, the C of Ireland records only commence in 1877 for this parish, see

    https://www.ireland.anglican.org/about/rcb-library/catalogues/parish-re…;

    I can locate no marriage either.

    No good news I am afraid, you could try some of the private groups on Facebook dealing with Tipperary genealogy to see if anyone there has any information but the records will be the same for eveyone but Churchill will be a less common name to search and you could look at the Tithes to see if family is in the area, the site is currently down so I cannot get a link. This is it titheapplottmentsbooks.nationalarchives.ie Try the Churchill name rather than Lynch, it is a register of tax payers who held more than an acre of land, 1824 to 1838.

    Regards

    Pat
