Briget Rahar from Waterford married William Kavanagh from Carrick on Suir in late 1800's. by the irish 1901 census she is widowed with 2 children. What happened to him?

    William Kavanagh's death certificate should tell how he died.  He died in 1899 aged 35.  Death record details:

    William Kavanagh, Carrick-on-Suir, July-Sept 1899 vol. 4 page 294

    send these reference details to the General Register Office, Convent Road, Roscommon, Ireland along with €4 and within a few days the postman will arrive with the answer to your question.

    If you discover from the cause of death on the cert that there may be a bigger story ie. 'gored by a rhinoceros',  'died from lead poisoning from gunshot wound' etc you may wish to check the local newspapers for the gorey details
