Hello,
I would appreciate any help in finding birth records with parents of Michael Maher/Meagher and Johanna/Judith Carew/Carey in the district of Drumwood, Townland Brockagh, County Tipperary S.R. Barony Kilnanagh Lower, Parish Clogher.
Michael & Johanna married around 1814 in Tipperary (haven't found a record). Johanna immigrated to South Australia in 1852 with the following children:-
James aged 20
Mary - 18
Ellen - 16
Bridget - 14
Michael - aged 13 - 15?
Ann - 11
Other children born who died before they emmigrated in 1852.
From Judith's Death Certificate in 1863 the following - She was born Tipperary parents Andrew Carew & Margaret Burns, married Tipperary with the following issue:-
Margaret aged 49
John - deceased
Johanna - dec.
James - dec.
Mary - 33
Andrew - dec
Ellen - 27
Bridget - 25
Michael - 24
Ann - 22
Johanna - 20
I have hit a brick wall and would appreciate any help or if you could point me in right direction.
Many thanks,
Joan

Joan,
I am not sure if this is a birth record for the youngest child, Johanna (May 1840), called Judith in the record; but take a look -third one on right side of page. The mother's name is transcribed as Carne, but original looks like it could be Carey as well. The RC parish of Clonoulty, Clogher, Rossmore's records began in 1804 and continue until 1900, so I am not sure why you cannot locate the baptism records. The only other information that I found for the Maher and Carey families living in Brockagh is the Griffith's Valuation records (1850) that shows Michael and Jeremiah Carey and John Maher living there.
