My grandmother, Catherine Talbot d/o/b about 1887, was the daughter of Denis and Mary Talbot. There address was Ballinlonty, Drom, Tipperary.
She emigrated to the U.S. about 1921 with one of her sisters and married Martin Foley (unfortunately, I don't know where in Ireland he was from) who she met on the boat coming over. Her sisters were Ellen, Mary and Bridget and her brothers were James and Edmond. She had my mom, Margaret Foley in 1923, who married my dad, Aage Christensen (from Denmark), in 1944. When she died in 2006, we lost the contact information for her cousin Margaret from Dublin. If anyone could get us in touch with cousins, we'd love to get to know them.

Looks like Catherine born around 1895 based on the 1901 and 1911 census records for the family. Her mother's maiden name was Maher based on the 1891 civil marriage index record below. You can get a copy of this record from the General Register Office for around 4 euros. It will show the names of the fathers of the bride and groom and where the bride and groom were living in 1891. Let me know if you plan to get a copy and I will forward instructions.
I can't assist you with finding your cousins.

You have already been so helpful; but if you can tell me how to get in touch with the General Register Office, I'd love to buy the record.
How kind of you to help me with finding family. Once I can get sufficient information, I'd love to visit Ireland to see where they lived. Who knows, maybe by the end of this trail, I'll come up with some of my counsins!

Here is the link to the GRO site https://www.welfare.ie/en/Pages/Apply-for-Certificates.aspx
Print out the form for a marriage record. Fill out the form and include the registration district (Thurles) and the Volume and page number ( 3 and 480). Mail the form to the GRO address provided. Make sure you just ask for a copy and also provide your e-mail address so they can get you the copy faster.
Ballinlonty is in North Tipperary northeast of Thurles. It is actually closer to the town of Borrisoleigh. Check out Google Maps.

You are a saint! If you ever get to the New York area, we'd love to have you to dinner.

Unfortunately, the form to get the marriage certificate states that the marriage had to have been registerd and the marriage date not before 1 January 1903 to order the certificate. I guess I'll just have to wait until I can get to Ireland.

The date limit may only be for applications online. I am going to try by mail.
Thanks so much.
