I am searching for information on my Purcell ancestors, Patrick and Mary (Nesbit) Purcell. I have reason to believe that they may have been married in Drom in 1843, based on a record from rootsireland.ie, although the record indicates a Patrick Purcell and Mary Purcell being wed, not Mary Nesbit. The date of marriage is listed as 30 Sep 1843 with witnesses Patt Purcell and Margaret Purcell. Is it possible that the parish records can identify if the bride, Mary Purcell, is in fact Mary Nesbit?
Thank you. I look forward to hearing back.

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
Likely the Roots staff transcribed what was on the register. This Wednesday the National Library of Ireland is placing all RC parish registers online for free searching. Drom and Inch parish is in the Diocese of Cashel and Emly. You will be able to search the register yourself to see the spelling of the surname. Likely there will be a lot of systems contention the first couple weeks.

Wow! This is great - both the prompt reply and the news about the records going on line. Thank you for your reply.
I was in Loughmoe just 2 weeks ago and did not get the chance to stop into the parish office there - I believe Patrick was baptized there in 1820. My next visit to Ireland will have to be more fruitful.
