I am looking for relatives and information (ANYTHING!) regarding Johanna Farrell.
Johanna (possible middle name Mary) Farrell
Born 1849-1851, Tipperary
Parents, Patrick & Ellen
Johanna immigrated to Australia. I cannot locate a record. She at times went by Johanna Mary and Hannah.
she married John O’BRIEN of Mitchelstown, Cork, in Sydney NSW 1872.
Their children were John, Katherine/Kathleen, Francis Xavier, Mary Ellen, Jessie Ellen, Leo. All born in NSW.
I am looking for Patrick & Ellen, possible close family members of them, and any information to help me locate Johanna’s place of birth.
Thank you!

A search of Subscription site www.rootsireland.ie and www.find mypast.ie for a Johanna Farrell did not show any record with parents Patrick Farrell and Ellen.
Ardfinnan, Co Tipperary had a Patrick Farrell and Ellen Wall.
Do you have the name of John O'Brien's parents. It may be possible to identify Johanna through his family.
Marriage records attached for Johanna and John O'Brien.

Hi! Thank you for your search. I think her name may not be her name.
Johns Parents were Terence & Ellen. They lived on Mulberry Lane, Mitchelstown. Terence was at that address in some immigration records for Johns sister, also Ellen.
Terence’s sister Margaret, married Robert Johnson.
I can find no connection to the two families, nor any records regarding Johanna prior to her marriage to John. -

Regarding John O'Brien's parents, you do not state what the surname of his mother was.
Subscription site www.rootsireland.ie has a record of the marriage of a Terence O'Brien to Ellen Burke in Mitchelstown on October 23rd 1832. No address recorded.
Baptisms: Catherine - June 6th 1845, Ellen - November 28th 1840, Bridget - 1845 - Mulberry Lane, Mary - March 14th 1848.
In that time period, there were two other "Terence O'Brien" - Mitchelstown and Shandrum.
Best Wishes,

Hi McCoy!
I think the elder Terence could be a father to Terence or brother to John.
I am unsure of Ellen’s surname but my best guess was Burke. I know John had a sister who was a nun, and another sister Ellen who also came to Australia. All via death notices placed in the paper by John & Johanna. -

I have not found any record for John O'Brien.
Perhaps you would Post the death notices, so that they may be identified in Mitchelstown by relatives.
Catherine was baptised in 1835.
